How It Works

Life after victimization via a sex crime is confusing, difficult and lonely. Survivor supporters and advocates also realize challenging feelings like uncertainty and helplessness. At GOTU, we understand the importance of support and connection to manage all of these feelings and thoughts created by the trauma. That’s why we created the GOTU app.

Now, survivors can readily share feelings in a space where people will understand; survivor supporters can share advice and realize support in an effort to maintain personal wellness; and, advocates can find community to collaborate on ways to make much needed change.

Survivor

Victimized via rape, molestation, voyeurism, coercion, exposure to unwanted sexual content or acts of others, or statutory sexual crimes

Supporter

Personal resource and ally to a person who has experienced sexual assault, but personally never been sexually violated

Advocate

3. Engage with Your Community

3:1 Rule

Community members can engage with each other to receive and give support via written conversations that are accessible at any time. This is a “living community”. So, we recommend that each member comments on at least three posts of other community members for every one post you publish.
