About Us
GOTU (pronounced /gō・too/) is an impact research and technology company founded by a sexual assault survivor who recognized the scarcity of accessible support resources and the detrimental impact on personal well-being. Through her interactions with other survivors, she discovered that traditional resources like therapy and group sessions aren't always practical. Survivorship demands constant attention beyond scheduled professional help or the availability of loved ones.
Surviving sexual assault is a long-term journey marked by daily challenges. The impact of this crime is profound, affecting survivors, their supporters, families, friends, and even the economy. Social stigma and lack of emotional support worsens these effects, making everyday life more daunting. GOTU honors those who have endured sexual violence and are courageously navigating their own wellness journeys. We are a rallying call, inspiring victimized persons to reclaim their lives and move forward.
We believe survivors are not broken, and they do not need to be fixed. Instead, our approach prioritizes awareness over instruction, reflection over direction, and autonomy over dependency. GOTU is designed to help individuals notice, choose, and act on their own terms while contributing to larger societal shifts. This work allows harmed persons to engage meaningfully without pressure, while also creating opportunities for collective insight to inform social and political change.
Our vision is a world where survivors trust themselves, lived experiences shape systems, and sexual violence is addressed with both depth and accountability. Change should be driven not only by institutions but by the people most affected. GOTU is built for individuals and designed for social impact.
